SHOCKWAVE 2013

Last March 1, i and some of my co-youth members became part of Shockwave 2013, organized by Open Doors Youth Philippines. This is the annual and global youth prayer mobilization with the aim to simultaneously intercedes for persecuted Christians. The event was entitled "The Secret Meeting".

The Photos were taken only using my Ipad, so expect some blurred shots.

The whole event was indeed great and heart-moving. By each activity we felt how it feels to be persecuted. We felt our fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are being persecuted around the world. I really salute this kind of event which brought awareness to everyone and especially with the young ones to pray for the persecuted brothers and sisters around the globe. Another thing, we all reminded that PRAYERS are powerful, we'll never know the effect of our prayers to the people who really needs it. And of course,  never underestimate the Power of Prayer.

Then after the heartfelt event, we had a little bonding time.

And as part of being One with the persecuted...
I wear this wristband in solidarity of my brothers and sisters in Christ who share my faith but not my freedom. I am One with them in Prayer. I am One with them in their suffering. And I am One with them everyday!

Let's be One with the persecuted.

Sands of Time

a Poem for the Islands

Fine white sand beneath my feet
while walking on the shore
feeling the day's heat
blue sky and clear waters
this is paradise, can i ask for more?

Beyond the palm trees
stories call out to me
tales that have never been told
of people you'll never see
they're people who long
for JESUS to walk on the sea
walk on their sands of time
give them a song, set them free.

Crystal clear waters
how can paradise falter?
they come for pleasure
i seek faith treasures
hidden and tucked away
i wish i could stay
and listen to all they have to say.

Paradise lost, paradise found
how can they stand on solid ground?
when the sands of time drift away
and with it comes dismay
oh JESUS, walk on these shores
and shake the islands to the core
oh, JESUS let your light shine
let it glisten on these sands of time.

Open Doors Phils.

Last Sunday OPEN DOORS PHILIPPINES was a guest speaker in our church for our Mission Month this July.

Open Doors is an international ministry dedicated to strengthening and equipping the Body of Christ living or facing restriction because of their faith.

what they do:

>Open doors provides Scriptures to help persecuted Christians grow in their faith. With the help of local churches, they are committed to make God’s Word available to them.

>Open doors trains believers and leaders in evangelism, discipleship and church growth, to strengthen the Body of Christ wherever it is persecuted.

>Open doors connects the suffering church with the supporting church in the free world to provide training in livelihood skills, community development, literacy and advocacy.

It's time to be aware that many Christians and Missionaries around the world suffer and experience persecution. My heart felt the hardships they face every time they will be send out to a non-Christian Country. Even though some of them were killed and prisoned because of their faith, others continue to share the Love of Jesus Christ to the non believers and hopeless nations.

How can we help them? the answer is Walk with them. we can have an impact on the lives of our suffering brothers and sisters, by considering these various ways.. or you can visit their Website to get involved.

we can..
Pray

You can pray personally or in groups using our Prayer Calendars; or you can sign up to receive prayer points by email.
Spread the word
>You can be a voice for those who pay the price for their faith in Jesus.
Encourage
>You can send letters or cards. Little notes of encouragement are tangible sources of inner strength for those in prison for their faith, those who are widowed or orphaned for Christ.
and we can also..
When you support persecuted Christians financially, you help them realize they are not alone, and they are not forgotten.
Travel
When you visit persecuted Christians, you not only experience “presence” ministry but you come away with a sense of having been blessed yourself, more than you have blessed them.

I got a copy of this.. you can also have your own.. click here for more info.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
Proverbs 31:8
